Surfskate Details

This smaller version of the Connor O’Leary model is based in the original  34″ which is the signature model of the World Top surfer.
The Surfskate SMOOTHSTAR Connor O’Leary THD 31″ has a shallow concave and is suited to all small to medium height surfers who want to pump and generate speed on flat sections.
Since Connor’s 34″ signature model is developed for big guys, above 180cm, the 31″ size allows groms and surfers of smaller heights, the possibility to ride Connor’s model.
This model also comes with medium wheels on the front and back.
The 31” Connor O’Leary is also considered the step up board from the 32” Flying Fish, as it shares the same concave profile but has more width, length, and wheelbase.

Surfer Connor O’Leary
Connor O’Leary is a WSL world tour surfer born and raised in Cronulla (Sydney, Australia) that represents both Japan and Australia while competing.
Connor is 6″1, a goofy foot, and he is well known for throwing some serious sprays out of the waves.
Some top surfers consider him to have one of the best backhand surfing attacks in the world.
Everybody knows him for training and putting 110% in and out of the water.
He’s an all round nice guy and has plenty of availability for the fans, groms and big groms.

The Rising Sun
Since the 31″ Connor O’Leary model is a scaled down version of his 34″ pro model board, SmoothStar inverted the graphic colours making it distinctly different to the model that was built around Connor surf stance.

What is the difference between the surfskates Smoothstar 31″ Connor O’Leary and 31″ Toledo

There are almost no differences between these two Smoothstar pro models, apart from the outline shape of the board. Both have the same wheelbase and the same wheel thickness, and are suited to young teens to smaller height adults, that want to ride Pro models of the best known surfers.

What is the difference between the Smoothstar Johanne Defay 31″ and Connor O’Leary 31″ ?
The Johanne Defay model has concave and the Connor O’Leary is a more flatter deck. The flatter deck generally feels faster but a deck with concave has more push and hold through turns. Concave decks also feel really good, especially when you ride with barefoot, just like surfing.

What’s the design idea behind Connor O’Leary pro models?
The idea for these models were simplicity and cool colour combination.
Both Connor’s boards have a ‘C’ and ‘O’ which are his initials. We surrounded these letters are by the Rising Sun which is symbolic of Connor’s Japanese heritage.
