Foil Drive Removable Cable V2 Motor
The Foil Drive Removable Cable for the new v2 Motor Cable allows for you to easily change the cable length.
With new foil drive motor V2 you will be able to have several cables for the same motor.
Therefore it much easier to change theposition of the motor mounting on you mast.
This allows you to customise your ride based on foiling discipline, skill level, rider preference and conditions.
The Removable v2 Motor Cable is compatible with the v2 Motor.
We have available various cable lengths for adjusting motor placement on the mast.
Each cable also comes with a v2 Motor Cable O-Ring.
Optional lengths:
12cm / 4.7″
15cm / 6″
20cm / 8″
25cm / 10″
60cm / 23.5″
70cm / 27.5
How to choose the size of the Foil Drive Removable Cable Lenght?
Foil Drive Gen2 Systems and Integrated masts with Assist PLUS units require you to select a motor length when ordering.
With the introduction in 2024 of the new V2 Motor, there are now 6 different length options that you can attach to the same motor.
Each Cable size has different pros and cons depending on how you wish to use your Foil Drive.
The motor mounting position is a personal rider preference and can differ between different disciplines of foiling.
Foil Drive motor cables can now be considered like a quiver, allowing you to customise or fine tune your setup to how you want to ride.
It’s crucial to understand that personal preference plays a role in choosing the motor height.
Nonetheless, we can provide you with insights on the suitability of each height, along with examples from actual riders!
You’ll see that some lengths are grouped together because they serve a similar purpose, taking into account various factors.
70cm and 60cm Motor Cable
These two are our longest available cables, designed for Flatwater Foil Driving.
In this activity, the motor is positioned close to the fuselage, and it’s meant to be powered continuously, similar to “e-foiling”.
The dual lengths are to accommodate different mast heights.
For a 70cm mast, the 60cm cable is required, and for a taller mast (80cm+), the 70cm cable is necessary.
Note: When picking the extreme cable lengths (shortest and longest), it’s crucial to leave a 10-15cm gap for the propellers.
For instance, if you’re positioning it near the fuse, the center of the motor pod should be placed 10cm above the body.
When setting it up close to your board, the center of the motor pod shouldn’t be any higher than 10cm from the board.
25cm Motor Cable
The 25cm cable serves as a versatile, middle ground option for motor positioning.
It’s great for beginners who wish to restrict the height at which they can fly, or for those who wish to experience both Foil Driving on calm waters and riding waves.
The motor stays low enough to stay submerged in small waves, allowing you to motor continuously or start to feel the surge of the waves for a more intense experience.
Over time, you might decide to reduce this length once you’re confident in the motor’s ability to stay above water.
This length is also perfect for those who enjoy transforming their location into a skate park, engaging in flatwater Foil Driving, then launching onto a boat wake or wave!
20cm, 15cm, and 12cm Motor Cable
Although these sizes might appear similar, there’s a clear distinction between them!
They’re crafted for foiling techniques where the motor is used to propel onto the foil, and then it’s necessary for the motor to exit the water to achieve drag-free flight.
This aspect of the motor’s height is particularly contentious.
To begin with, consider when it’s necessary for the motor to leave the water in this type of foiling technique.
Activities such as surfing, downwind, wake foiling, pumping, and winging all involve this.
Let’s examine each activity and contrast the 20cm and 15cm.
The 20cm motor is versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications.
It offers the optimal balance for both powered and unpowered use.
For those who are more experienced in foiling or simply prefer to use their system in assist mode (using it solely for getting on the foil) and aim for the highest level of drag-free flight, the 12cm and 15cm are the preferred options.
However, it does pose a challenge for hybrid foiling in rough waters due to the shorter distance between the board and the water.
Nonetheless, it’s still achievable.
Utilizing a three-blade propeller configuration can significantly aid in maintaining thrust and traction on the water in both the 12cm and 15cm motor configurations.

Foil Drive
Foil Drive represents a significant advancement in the world of foiling, providing riders with an eco-friendly, efficient, and powerful way to extend their time on the water, explore new terrains, and improve their skills.
Whether you're a seasoned professional or a newcomer to the sport, the versatility and ease of use of these system make them a valuable addition to any foiling adventure. This is a pioneering technology designed to assist and enhance the performance of hydrofoils. It's used in watersports like Surf foil, SUP (Stand-Up Paddle) foiling, and Downwind foil. Since foiling has gained immense popularity due to its smooth and efficient glide across water with reduced drag, we developed an electric boost to foil riders. Our goal is to enable all types of foilers greater versatility and range. Our systems are compact and sleek, integrating seamlessly with most hydrofoil setups. The purpose of Foil Drive is to provide motorized assistance to riders, making it easier to:
Catch Waves: For surfers and SUP foilers, the drive helps generate enough speed to catch waves with minimal paddling effort, even in low swell conditions. It gives experienced riders a burst of speed to rise onto the foil quicker, reducing the need for manual paddling or pumping. Extend Sessions: It significantly reduces fatigue by allowing riders to continue riding without exhausting their legs or upper body muscles. Uphill Foiling: In wing foiling or downwind foiling, the motorized drive allows riders to cover longer distances against the wind or currents. Training and Learning Aid: For beginners, the drive offers a stable and controlled environment to practice foiling techniques without requiring perfect wave or wind conditions. The core components of a Foil Drive Kit include:
Electric Motor: A small, powerful electric motor mounted at the rear of the hydrofoil mast. This motor is protected by a durable, waterproof casing, making it corrosion-resistant and designed to withstand the harsh marine environment. Propeller: A specially designed propeller, attached to the motor, which provides the thrust needed to assist the rider when needed. Battery Pack: A compact battery that powers the motor. It’s usually stored in a waterproof casing and mounted on the board or in a specially designed backpack that the rider wears. Remote Control: A handheld or wrist-mounted remote control that allows the rider to control the power output of the motor. The remote communicates wirelessly with the motor and battery to provide precise speed control. Connection Cables: Durable, waterproof cables that connect the battery pack to the motor and other electronic components. Visually, the system is low-profile, keeping the board's aesthetics intact while ensuring that the weight distribution doesn’t affect the balance of the board.Foil Drive Kits systems come in 3 different models.
